At the Godwin Lawson Foundation, we ignite the potential within young people, steering them away from the shadows of gang life and into the light of positive community impact. We equip them with the resources, mentorship, and opportunities they need to thrive, fostering a new generation of leaders dedicated to creating safer, stronger communities.
Founded in 2012 to honour the memory of Godwin Lawson, who heroically lost his life protecting his friends from a knife attack, our foundation is a beacon of hope. We are committed to turning tragedy into triumph by advancing the education and personal development of young people. Through engaging educational programs, personal growth activities, and sports, we build self-esteem, teamwork, and cultural awareness.
Our Mission
The Godwin Lawson Foundation was established in memory of Godwin Lawson and is dedicated to creating safer, stronger communities by investing in the potential of young people. We believe every young person deserves access to opportunity, positive role models and the support needed to achieve their ambitions. Through mentoring, education, employability programmes, sport and community initiatives, we help young people build confidence, develop life skills and make positive choices. Our mission is to inspire hope, reduce the factors that contribute to violence and social exclusion, and empower the next generation to lead lives of purpose, achievement and impact.

By raising awareness of the devastating impact of knife crime and serious youth violence, and promoting the positive role of sports and education, we challenge gang culture and inspire lasting change.
